Dorothy Jean Emmons, 78, wife of the late George E. Emmons for 56 years, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born September 8, 1942 in Bath County, she was a former employee of Jockey International, an avid reader and member of the Moorefield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Surviving are 2 sons, Larry Michael “Mike” Emmons, of Moorefield, and George E. Emmons, Jr., of Lexington; and 5 brothers & sisters: Bobby (Angie) Dailey, Debbie (Billy) Coffey, Carl Dailey, Melissa Dailey and Wayne (Shannon) Dailey.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James & Irene Kathryn Guy Dailey, and a brother, Jim Dailey.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 7th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Douglas A. Alexander. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Friday.
