Dorothy Janice Mann Grey, 90, wife of the late Lee “Bud” Grey, Jr., passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born March 8, 1931 in Nicholas County to the late Charles, Sr. & Nannie Minton Mann, she was a devoted farm wife, a former cook for Jockey International and the North Central 4-H Camp, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Dorothy loved playing bingo and fishing with Bud.
Surviving are 3 daughters: Janice (William H.) Snapp & Donna (Wayne) Tapp, both of Carlisle, and Patricia Grey (Earl Ritchie) of Maysville; 1 sister, Mary (Charles) Carter, of Arlington, Virginia; 7 grandchildren: Leann Garrett Hennigan, Garla Snapp Hart, Beth Snapp Willoughby, Larry Ring, Jr., Daron Thornsburg, Christina Hinkle and Chris McCarty; 12 great-grandchildren: Taylor Fryman Seat, Sarah Belle Fryman, Andrew Roberts, Savannah Bates, Holly Snowden, Brayson & Skyler Ring, Trevor & Kaleb Thornsburg, Justus Ellis, Trinity Powell, and Aaron & Will McCarty; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were 7 brothers & sisters: Bobby, Charles, Jr., Clyde & Frank Mann, Lillian Davis, Sarah Cordie McCann and Louise Whaley.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 21, 2022 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Monday until the time of service.
