Dorothy (Mynear) Sparks

Dorothy Mae Mynear Sparks, 78, wife of the late Harry Sparks, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at her home.

Born December 11, 1946 in Nicholas County to the late William Woodie & Minnie Soard Mynear, she was a 1964 graduate of Nicholas County High School and a retired employee of Jockey International. Dorothy loved being at home with her family and her beloved dog, Molly. 

Surviving are her children: Carolyn (Danny) Hawkins, Bucky (Melissa Purvis) Sparks & Lisa Anderson; 4 grandchildren: Ashley Hopkins, Christopher Anderson, Dylan Sparks & Kendra Sparks; 3 great-grandchildren: Reagan & Landon Hopkins and Remington Anderson. 

Also preceding her in death were a sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Earlywine, and a great-grandson, Luke Hopkins.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Carlisle Cemetery.
