Ed Jefferson

Edwin Hatler “Ed” Jefferson, 84, husband of the late Patty Watkins Jefferson, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

Born April 24, 1937 in Nicholas County to the late Davie & Mary Lacey Gaunce Jefferson, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and the owner and operator of Jefferson Construction.

Surviving are 2 sons, Timmy (Gail) Jefferson and Robin (Cristi)Jefferson; 6 grandchildren: Chris Jefferson, Brandon (Melanie) Jefferson, Morgan Jefferson, Kayla Jefferson, Katie Jefferson and Cody Livingood;  one  great-grandson, Jack Jefferson; and a brother, Richard Jefferson, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Jeffrey Jefferson; 2 brothers,Thomas “Tom” and Willie Clay “W.C.” Jefferson; 3 sisters, Loretta & Marie Jefferson and Jeanetta Watkins, and his step-mother, Louellen Jefferson.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 26th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial with military honors will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
