Eleanor Ellington Bramel, 97, wife of the late Catesby Woodford "Casey" Bramel, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born July 20, 1922 in Nicholas Co. to the late George Washington & Annie Marie Ellington, she was a former employee of Bluegrass Industries, Eaton Foundry and Grede. She had been active in the Sunnyside & Ruddles Mill Homemaker groups and helped with the Hope Lodge ministry. She was a dedicated member of the Irvingsville Baptist Church. Eleanor absolutely loved to go camping and fishing.
Survivors include 2 sons, David Keith (Judy) Shrout & George Thomas (Norma) Shrout, both of Cynthiana; a daughter, Wanda Shrout, of Carlisle; her step-son, David Allen (Susan) Bramel, of Cynthiana; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were husbands: Thomas J. Shrout & Eugene Shrout; 2 brothers: Hanson & Paul Ellington; a sister, Frances Watkins; a step-daughter, Shelly Bramel, and a grandson, Billy Joe Coy.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Brad Caudill and Bro. Nathan Miller. Burial will follow in Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
