Elizabeth "Betty" (Logan) Smoot

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Logan Smoot, 89, wife of the late Paul H. Smoot, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

Born February 19, 1929 in Nicholas County to the late John Willie & Lewie Crawford Logan, she was the longtime bookkeeper for Rex & Paul’s Shell, a devoted wife, mother & grandmother and member of the Carlisle Christian Church.

Survivors include 2 granddaughters, Nicole Smoot Sparks and Sarah (Justin) Smoot-Massey, both of Carlisle; 3 great-grandchildren: Ryan Minton, Ruby Sparks and Lincoln Massey; a daughter-in-law, Mary Smoot; a dear friend, Phyllis Smoot; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were a son, David Smoot; 4 brothers: Gilbert, Billy, Ivan & Pete Logan; and 2 sisters, Mae Logan & Ruth Dayton.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 12, 2018 at Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Monday until the time of service.
