Elizabeth "Libby" Willoughby

Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Burke Willoughby, 71, wife of Raymond Willoughby, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

Born March 10, 1954 in Nicholas County to the late Raymond & Imogene Smoot Burke, Libby was a devoted homemaker and a member of Barterville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches and western movies. 

Additional survivors include a brother, Allen (Bonnie) Burke of Carlisle; 4 sisters: Wanda (Jim) Eades of Lexington, Judy Burke, Becky (Mack) Evans and Gail (Timmy) Jefferson, all of Carlisle; 4 nephews: Nathan Eades, Jimmy (Mindy) Eades, Josh (Shyanna) Evans & Shawn (Destiny) Evans; 2 nieces, Kayla Jefferson & Morgan (Trae) Clark; 7 great-nephews: Brayden, Walker & Parker Evans, Asher Garren, Liam & Elijah Clark, and Gibson Eades; and 2 great-nieces, Emily & Bayleigh Evans. 

Also preceding her in death was a sister, Bonnie Burke. 

Services will be 1:00pm Thursday, January 29th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Troy Miller with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00am Thursday.
