Elsie (Ishmael) Bretz

Elsie Bretz, 84, wife of the late Chester Bretz, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home.

Born February 25, 1934 to the late Levi & Ethel Bailey Ishmael, she was a native of Nicholas Co. and a longtime employee of Clay Seed. Elsie greatly enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Survivors are her children: Vicky Harney, Rechia (Dennis) Joseph, Dale (Michelle) Bretz, David Bretz and Angie (Mark) Earlywine; a daughter-in-law, Carol Bretz; 14 grandchildren: Sherry Berryman, Shawn & Crystal Harney, Chris & Dwight Gillispie, Josh Bretz, Vanessa Lemire, Darren & Tyler Bretz, Emily, Griffin & Mallori Bretz and Shelbi & Shayla Robinson, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were 2 sons: Dewayne & Michael Chester Bretz; a son-in-law, Sonny Harney; a granddaughter, Robin Ring; 3 brothers: Robert, Preston & Frankie Ishmael; and 2 sisters: Katherine Mullins & Alma Curry.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 19, 2018 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Gaylord Gillispie. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.
