Elsie Earlywine Obituary

Elsie Rae Holland Earlywine, 88, of Carlisle, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to meet our Lord on Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2022, with her daughters by her side.

Born in Menifee County, Kentucky on January 19, 1934 to the late John Mason & Bethel Wells Holland, Elsie began working at Blue Grass Industries at the age of 18, then went on to work at Jockey International in Carlisle, retiring in 1996 after 42 years of dedication. Upon retirement, she lovingly cared for many of her grandchildren as their ‘babysitter’. For the past 10 years, she was a caretaker for many elder folks, whom she treated and cared for as if they were her own. She was a talented cook & baker, taking many requests over the years for her delicious peanut butter roll and Christmas fudge. She was also a skilled seamstress, sewing and mending for family and friends. Elsie was an avid fan of Cincinnati Reds baseball and University of Kentucky basketball. She cheered both teams on, while sitting directly in front of her television, wearing team shirts & earrings and eating popcorn.

Surviving are 4 daughters & sons-in-law: Debbie (Billy) Workman, Carla (Joe) Beatty & Terri (Jerry) Ross, all of Carlisle, and Toni (Greg) Spivey, of Paris; 4 sisters: Dolly Ritchie, of North Carolina, and Norma Jean Whaley, Elizabeth (Jim) Tincher & Linda Sue (Don) Caskey, all of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren: William ‘Duke’ (Jennifer) Workman, Crystal (Dave) Cox, Shivon (Casey) Fields, Christy Jo (Jim Robert) Beatty, Joe (Maddy) Beatty IV, Danielle Boone, Holland (Devin) Boone, Allison (Waynie) Boone, Amanda (Shaun) Alexander, Justus (MaKayla) Warner, & Preston (Shelbi) Northcutt; 26 great-grandchildren: Zackary Workman, Keisha Roe, Austin & Dalton Fryman, Keileigh & Alyssa Watkins, Hayley Adams, Autumn Dotson, Nolan Fields, Sydney Blakeman, Isaac Bowles, Claire Mullins, Carly Glass, Dawson Willoughby, Corbin & Campbell Beatty, Roxanne, Rozalie, Ryan & Mila Boone, Tesla Ginger & Waylon Cox, and Reagan, McKinley, Maddox & Emerson Alexander; and 11 great-great-grandchildren: Kaison Roe, Aubree & Andy Fryman, Adalynn, Bella & Maverick Adams, Hollyn Blakeman, Kylee & Bryson Bowles, and Rayna & Brylee Ferguson, along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.
