Eva Dean Crawford Obituary

Eva Dean Crawford, 94, wife of the late Otha B. Crawford, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home. 

Born June 19, 1927 in Nicholas County to the late William Millard & Leona Mae Lynam Snapp, she was a graduate of Carlisle High School, a former switchboard operator for the South Central Bell Telephone Company, had also worked for Small’s Greenhouse, was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church and had attended the Carlisle Assembly of God Church. 

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Crawford; 2 granddaughters, Melanie (Gary) Bussell and Rebekah Crawford; 3 great-grandsons: Bradley Hunt, Tyler (Vanessa) Hunt and Cody (Danielle) Hunt; 8 great-great grandchildren: Krysta, Ava, Brantley, Evie, Nova, Emberlynn, Benjamin & Nathaniel; a nephew, William (Phillis) Fite; 3 great-nieces: Kavanna Fite, Tracey (Jeff) Snapp and Beth Early; and a great-nephew, Darrell Glass, along with several great-great-nieces & nephews. 

Also preceding her in death were a son, Otha Dean Crawford; a brother, William Chester Snapp; 2 sisters, Lucille Fite and Lillie Koehler; a nephew, Roger Gene Fite; and a niece, Bonnie Elaine Glass. 

Services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service.
