Obituary
Evalyn McDonald Abnee, 87, wife of 56 years to the late Robert “Bob” Abnee, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022.
Born November 10, 1934 in Clark County to the late B.C. & Leona Whitaker McDonald, she was a 1953 graduate of Nicholas County High School, a devoted homemaker and lifelong farmer. Evalyn loved to read, paint and work in the garden, growing both flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are 3 children: Laura Boone, Ronnie Abnee & Tina Abnee, all of Nicholas County; 4 grandchildren: Angel Beatty, Joshua Abnee, Jenna Abnee & Jessica Boone; 7 great-grandchildren: De´Kain Abnee, Tristan, Alyssa & Andrew Watkins, Peyton Boone, Parker Bennett & Paisley Hunt; and a great-great-granddaughter, Alaina Abnee, along with a host of nieces & nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Frankie Abnee; 4 brothers: Bueford, Dennis, David & Rodney McDonald; and 3 sisters: Dora Norvell, Linda Faulconer & Joredda Garrett.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Phillip Mattox. Burial will follow in Barterville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Wednesday until the time of service.
