Franklin C. Jolly, 79, husband of Ann Smith Jolly, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born July 16, 1936 at the Clay Farm in Nicholas County to the late George Thomas & Lillie May Fryman Jolly, he was a lifelong farmer and longtime rural letter carrier with the US Postal Service. A dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle, Franklin served as Chairman of the Building Committee for more than 20 years, was Head Usher and a member of the Helping Hands Sunday School class.
Also left to cherish his memory are a son, Jeff (Pam) Jolly, of Georgetown; a brother, Donald (Naomi) Jolly, of North Middletown; 2 grandsons, Chris (Samantha) Jolly and Justin (Amber) Jolly; and 2 great-granddaughters, Kelsey Jolly and Aubrey Burge.
He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Douglas & Clyde Jolly, a sister, Jeanette Jolly and 2 stillborn brothers.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church by Rev. Kevin Thomas. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
