Garnetta Letcher, 92, wife of the late Carl M. Letcher, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home.
Born July 21, 1924 in Nicholas County to the late Charlie & Minnie Bell Jones Fuller, she was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, a former employee of the Nicholas County Senior Citizens Center, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a dedicated member of the Blue Licks Christian Church. Garnetta worked by Carl’s side on their farm for many years.
She was "Granny" to 2 grandsons: Phillip Scott Irvin, of Carlisle, & Ronnie W. (Lora) Irvin, of Millersburg; 2 granddaughters, Melissa (Fred) Fields, of Paris, & Tonya Irvin (Wendell) Fryman, of Carlisle; 9 great-grandchildren, Ginger (Jedediah) Staton, Stephini (Chris) King, Phillip (Samantha) Irvin, Tony (Shelby) Fields, Caleb & Ethan Fryman, and Jake, Luke & Destiny Irvin; and 10 great-great grandchildren: Jada, Jayger, Bryar & Parker Staton, Breanna & Benny King, Lilly & Paisley Irvin, Liam Grose and Kennedi Fields.
Also preceding her in death were her first husband, Leonard Phillip Irvin, Sr., her son, Leonard Phillip Irvin, Jr. and 2 sisters, Mary Jo Puckett and Lida Smith.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 5, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jim Caswell. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
