Geneva Gaunce Kearns, 97, wife of the late Homer Allen Kearns, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born June 21, 1922 in Nicholas County to the late Oscar Gratton & Lidia Myrtle Owings Gaunce, she was a former employee of Clay Seed and a devoted homemaker, who loved canning, cooking and keeping a spotless house. She attended East Union and Stoney Creek Christian Churches.
Surviving are a son, Marion Kearns, and a daughter, Wilma (Danny) Cleaver.
Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Lovell "Shoate" & Tom Gaunce, and 5 sisters, Della Dye, Ethel Hunt, Lutie Shields, Mary Towles and Nellie Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2019 in the Carlisle Cemetery Chapel by Bro. Jack Harney with burial to follow.
Casketbearers will be her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Monday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home.
