George William Avery

George William Avery, 90,  formerly of Millersburg,  husband of the late Ruby Golden Avery, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.

Born March 30, 1929 in Nicholas County to the late Clarence & Anna Belle Hutchings Avery, he was a U. S. Army veteran, a former Kentucky Army National Guard member, a retired 28 year employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot and was a member of the Paris Church of Christ.

Left to cherish his memory are 3 sons: Gerald Avery, Damon Avery & Darrell Davis; 3 daughters: Sharon Walker, Darchelle Cooper & Cheryl Gray; 3 brothers: Charles & William Coleman and Leonard Avery; and 2 sisters: Gertrude Cooley & Mae Hodge, along with 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.

Also, preceding him in death were 2 sons: Dwayne Avery & Tim Davis; a brother, Clarence Avery, Jr.; and 3 sisters, Patricia Casterlow, Anna Roberts & Mary Coleman.

Services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Paris Church of Christ. Burial with military honors will follow in Millersburg Cemetery.

Visitation at the church is from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of services.
