Gladys Smith Cook, 94, wife of the late W.W. Cook, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born September 22, 1922 in Nicholas County to the late Everett D. & Sarepta Hostetler Smith, she was a retired secretary, having worked with her husband in the field of education for many years in Yankeetown, Florida, and a member of the Carlisle Christian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Carol (Franklin) Caswell, of Carlisle, and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Samuel Warren Smith, and 2 sisters, Idell Rondolino and Lida Crump.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Inurnment will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
