Gladys Cartmill Gifford, 98, wife of the late Elmer Clifton Gifford, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at her home.
Born July 10, 1921 in Carlisle, Kentucky to the late Catesby James and Gertrude Ann (Waugh) Cartmill, she was a former restaurant manager at Gifford’s and Murphy’s Restaurants in Maysville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle. Gladys loved watching television, especially UK ball games, and listening to church sermons.
Surviving are special friends, Janette Gudgell and Leslie Clark, a beloved care-giver, Regina Purvis, several nieces & nephews and a large extended family.
Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Carnell Gifford, four brothers: John William, J. C., Morrow & Roy Cartmill, and three sisters, Dorothy Gill, Adelene "Micki" Paulin and Opal Sexton Hamilton.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Carlisle by Revs. Steve Smith & Kevin Thomas. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the church.
