Glenn Prather Hamilton, 86, husband of 58 years to Carolyn Coffey Hamilton, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Born August 18, 1934 in Bourbon County to the late Frank & Katherine Prather Hamilton, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a lifelong farmer in the Jackstown area, educated in the Bourbon County school system and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Glenn (Amy) Hamilton; a daughter, Rebecca Renee “Becky” (Kevin) Shelton; a grandson, Tyler Hamilton; 4 granddaughters: Morgan Hamilton, McKalyn Shelton (Tyler Collis), Macey Shelton and Krista Shelton (Fred) Johnson; a great-grandson, Kyler Coleman Collis; his sister, Katie Mattox; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Charles “Mickey” Hamilton and William “Bill” Hamilton.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and team for being so kind to Glenn and the family. A special thanks to the staff at the VA infusion clinic for their years of kindness shown to us all.
