Jack Guy Obituary

Jack Richard Guy, 84, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington with his wife by his side. 

Born July 23, 1939 in Paris, Kentucky, he was a 1959 graduate of Nicholas County High School, spent 2 years at American University in Washington, D.C., and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Jack drove a bus for the San Diego Transit Authority for many years and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. 

Surviving are his wife, June Tedder Guy; 2 daughters, Jennifer Guy & Cyndi (Mike) Munksgaard, both of Riverside, California; 2 grandchildren, Jake & Summer Munksgaard, both of Riverside; 2 stepsons, David Banta of Williamsburg, Virginia, & Mark (Sherry) Banta of Crestwood; and 6 step-grandchildren: Michael (Annalie) Banta, Lucas (Erica) Banta and Jake Banta, all of Crestwood; Jacob Banta of Blacksburg, Virginia, Jeremy Banta of Auburn, Alabama, & Holly Banta of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Mansfield Whitis; his father, William Guy; a brother, William Guy; and a sister, Lucy Guy.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May, 2nd at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial with military honors will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
