James Roy Pergram, 63, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at his home.
Born November 24, 1959 in Menifee County, he moved to Carlisle in his youth and graduated from Nicholas County High School in 1977. He worked for several years at Bluegrass Industries/Jockey International and on the Henry Clay Caswell farm, as well as doing odd jobs for anyone who needed him. James was a worker; he truly dedicated himself with his whole heart to any task asked of him. His earnest kindness and conscientious nature endeared him to many in Carlisle and he considered everyone a friend.
Surviving are a brother, Edward A. Goldy; 5 sisters: Mary Etta Hardin, Marsha Lynn Goldy, Dalphine Goldy, Elizabeth Ann Onesto & Gladys Faye Barker; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Frances Staton Pergram Goldy; his father, Monroe “Cobb” Pergram; a brother, Thomas Earl Pergram; and a sister, Delores Jean Pergram.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 21st at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
