James Snapp Obituary

James Russell Snapp, 87, husband of the late Carolyn Delaney Snapp, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at Harrodsburg Health & Rehabilitation. 

Born September 19, 1936 in Nicholas County to the late Robert Spencer & Pauline McVey Snapp, he was a U.S. Army veteran, the long-time owner of Snapp’s Service Station, a member of Amity Lodge #40 F.&A.M. and the Marie Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Jim loved being outside working in his garden and beekeeping. 

Surviving are 2 children: Jeff (Tracey) Snapp & Jana (Victor) Kappeler; 2 sisters, Carolyn & Barbara Snapp; 3 grandchildren: Aaron Kappeler, Danielle (Chris) Fryman & Andrea Snapp Robinson; and a great-grandson, Aiden Fryman.

His sister, Judy Vaughn, also preceded him in death. 

A Masonic Rites Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 2nd at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service.  Inurnment with military honors will be held in Carlisle Cemetery immediately thereafter.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Thursday until the time of services.
