Jean Downes Clark, 81, formerly of Nicholas County, wife of 57 years to the late Frederick E. “Fred” Clark, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Central Parke Memory Care in Mason, Ohio.
Born July 16, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Kenneth & Ann Froncek Downes, she was a devoted homemaker while her boys were growing up, and then went on to be the first in her family to graduate from college while in her 40's. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Jean & Fred absolutely loved to travel and visited 33 countries over the years.
Surviving are 4 sons: Robert Clark of Hamilton, Ohio, Kevin (Kristie) Clark of Centerville, Ohio, Patrick (Jennifer) Clark of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dan (Kelly) Clark of Monroe, Ohio; and 5 grandchildren: Cameron, Gabe, Hannah, Logan & M.J. Clark.
In accordance with her wishes, Jean will be cremated. Private services will be held by the family.
