Jimmy Tincher Obituary

James Clay "Jimmy" Tincher, 61, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

Born March 9, 1958 in Nicholas County, he was a 1977 graduate of the Kentucky School for the Deaf, a former employee of Crockett’s Shopwise and Accutran, and had worked for more than 20 years at The Carlisle Mercury. Jimmy dedicated many years to serving his community on the Nicholas County Parks & Recreation Board; he was also the longtime statistician for Nicholas County Little League Baseball and several different sports at the Nicholas County Schools. He was a devoted member of the Carlisle Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon.

Surviving are 7 brothers and sisters: Lisa (Ron) McClain, of Bath County, Linda (Tony) Fryman, Debbie Ritchie, John Paul (Dianna) Ritchie and Patrick (Susan) Ritchie, all of Carlisle, Beverly Waters and Teresa (Kelly) Beach, both of Paris; his step-mother, Wanda Tincher, of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his mother & step-father, Janette & Paul Ritchie; his father, Billy Allen Tincher, and a brother, Jeffery Tincher.

Services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of service.
