Jimmy Walker

James Allen “Jimmy” Walker, 75, husband of Sandra Brierly Walker, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

Born July 15, 1945 in Nicholas County, he was a 1963 graduate of Carlisle High School, a retired employee o f Jockey International and member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Jimmy gave of himself freely in service through involvement as a former member of the Jaycees, as Past Master of Doughtery Lodge #65 F.& A.M. and as a devoted Little League Basketball coach for many years. He was also named an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. 

Additional survivors include a son, Kevin (Libby) Walker; 2 step-children: Erica Brierly (Brad Logan) and Greg Brierly; 6 grandchildren: Kevin (Natasha) Walker, II, Kristopher Walker, Mary Walker, Morgan Padgett, Korbin Mitchell and Aiden Brierly; and 4 great-grandchildren: Jaylynn, Devin & Brantley Walker and Miller McCall. 

His mother, Pauline “Polly” Bussell Walker Wells, and step-father, James A. Wells, preceded him in death. 

Private graveside services will take place in the Carlisle Cemetery.
