JoeBob Smith

Joseph Robert “JoeBob” Smith, 41, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 as the result of an automobile accident. 

Born November 19, 1982 a native of Nicholas County, he worked for many years as a carpenter and farmer. A kind-hearted man, he would gladly do anything for anyone. He loved kids and animals, and was a devoted  University of Michigan fan. 

Surviving are his parents, Joe (Janice) Smith of Caro, Michigan; his mother, Cindy Ellen Hatfield Fryman of Carlisle; and the light of his life, his daughter Payton Smith of Carlisle. Also surviving are a special friend, Kennah Noble of Cynthiana; 3 brothers: Jonathan Smith, Mike Smith and Jackie Flora; a sister, Crystal Pack; his grandmothers, Gean Smith & Ruth VanGuilder; 6 aunts: Kim (Gene) Larson, Jane (Joe) Tait, Tina (Marty) Decker, Nancy (John) Green, Lisa (Marvin) Frederick & Reitha (Ryan) Manis; 2 uncles, Wesley (Traci) Smith & Craig (Betsy) Smith; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. 

Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Jack Leroy Smith, Robert & Mary Catherine McGlothin, Priscilla Ann & Richard Ginther and Mike VanGuilder; an aunt, Linda Butler; and 2 uncles, Jack Leroy Smith, II & Bruce McGlothin.

A Gathering of Family & Friends will begin at 5:00 P.M. Monday, September 23rd at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with a Time of Remembrance at 7:00 P.M.
