John Milton Fryman, Jr., 94, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born August 11, 1924 in Nicholas County to the late John Milton & Willie Keaton Williams Fryman, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a lifelong farmer, an avid fisherman and a member of the Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son: Charlie Fryman (Diane Hunter), of Nicholas County; a daughter, Alice (Robert) Winburn, of Lexington; 2 brothers: Louis Fryman, of Carlisle, and Arthur Fryman, of Hanna, Indiana; a sister, Christine Dwelly, of Lynchburg, Ohio; a grandson, Austin Lee Fryman; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kason Trussell and Electra B. Curtis, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Acel & William Fryman, and 4 sisters, Mary Belle Fryman, Lucy Fryman, Della Earlywine and Gertrude Earlywine.
Services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Tony Smith with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
John’s family and friends will serve as casketbearers.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Tuesday until the service.
