John Matthew Hall

John Matthew Hall, 52, husband of 33 years to Leslie Cundiff Hall, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his home in Nicholas County.

Born March 3, 1972 in McDowell, Kentucky, he worked for many years at Champion Mobile Homes, then later at Allison’s Concrete and also was a self-employed logger. 

Additional survivors include his 3 children: John M. Hall, II (Travis Morgan) of Winchester, Daniel Hall of Ewing and Katie Hall (Anthony McFarland) of Paris; 5 grandchildren: Sawyer & Jemma Hall, Anthony McFarland and Aubrey & Levi Hall; a brother, David Slone; 4 sisters: Ella (Dave) Mann, Amanda (Jarrod) Dryden, Katheryn Humphries & Joy Slone; his mother-in-law, Regina Pattie; his father-in-law, Philip Cundiff; a sister-in-law, Holly (Justin) St. Clair; and his stepmother, Mary Hall; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and in-laws that he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Hall, Jr.; his mother, Darlene Tanner Fleming; and a brother, Brian David Hall. 

Services will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 23rd at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home officiated by Chris Ratliff. Burial will follow in the John M. Hall Family Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. Friday until the time of service.
