Johnny Everett McKenzie, 64, husband of Debbie Sue Barnett McKenzie, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at his home. 
He was born June 21, 1958 in Salyersville to the late Lonzie & Sarah Smith McKenzie. 
Additional survivors include a son, Tony Edward McKenzie, of Nicholas County; 3 brothers: William Allen “Bill” (Nora) McKenzie, of Bath County, David McKenzie and Lonzi Christopher (Gwen) McKenzie, both of Salyersville; 2 sisters, Ruby May McKenzie, of Salyersville, and Madeline Fay McKenzie, of Ohio; and a grandson, John David McKenzie. 
Also preceding him in death was a brother, James McKenzie. 
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Thursday, February 9th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 P.M. with a Time of Remembrance at 7:00 P.M.
