Helen June King Wilson, 92, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born September 24, 1927 in Nicholas County to the late Malinda Purcell King Alexander & Raymond King, she was a graduate of Headquarters High School and had served as a Deputy Clerk in both the Nicholas County Clerk and Nicholas County Circuit Clerks’ Offices. June was a highly skilled crafter having excelled at quilting, crocheting and basket-making. She greatly enjoyed researching and visiting covered bridges and doing genealogy.
Surviving are a daughter, Gayla (Billy) Hardwick; 2 sisters: Virginia Herrin and Linda (Joe) Ratliff; a granddaughter, Kimberly (Gannon) Bryant; a sister-in-law, Shirley King; and 5 nieces & a nephew: Cheryl (Mike) Rawlings, Beverly (Shawn) Parrish, Jonelle (R.T.) Hays, Melissa (Tom) McFarland, Melanie (David) Musick and John Scott (Lisa) King, Jr.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, John Scott King.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Friday until the time of service.
