Kathy (Lyons) Rainey

Katherine Dawn Lyons Rainey, 59, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home. 

Born October 13, 1961 in Nicholas County to Ewell Roberts “Bud” & Nancye Ellen Reid Lyons, Kathy was a registered nurse, having worked at Nurses Registry, Bourbon Community Hospital, Wedco Home Health and both the Bath & Bourbon County School Systems, and was a member of the Carlisle Presbyterian Church.  She loved spending time gardening and at the beach. 

In addition to her parents, Kathy is survived by her children, Katie (Owen) Hinton and Nathan Rainey (Sydney Payne) and her nephews, Seth & Ross Haney. 

Preceding her in death were her first husband, John Moore, her brother, Ewell Roberts “Robbie” Lyons, and her sister & brother-in-law, Marsha & Mike Haney. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Schuyler Olt. Inurnment will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Tuesday.
