Kenneth Allen "Bass" Givens, 47, husband of Kimberly French-Givens, departed this life on June 26, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center after a valiant fight against cancer.
Born May 4, 1969 in Lexington, Kentucky, to Betty Smith Givens, of Lexington and the late Robert Bingham, he was a graduate of Bryan Station High School, a former corrections officer at the Fayette County Detention Center and currently served as a security officer for St. Joseph Hospital/KentuckyOne Health. Kenneth recently united with Shiloh Baptist Church, professing his faith in God and accepting Christ as his personal Savior.
Kenneth was a loving and devoted family man who, along with his mother and precious, loving wife & care-giver Kimberly, is survived by a son, Ricky Hill; a daughter, Rickelle Hill, and a grandson, Rome Kavanaugh, all of Lexington. Also left to cherish his memory are 7 brothers: Andrew (Veronica) Givens, Michael (Elizabeth) Givens, Anthony (Pamela) Givens, Jack (Linda) Givens, Lawrence (Melinda) Weathers, Darrell (Heidi) Givens and Ruben Givens; 3 sisters: Regenia Givens Taylor, Barbara Givens and Paulette Givens, and a host of other family members & friends. Kenneth was also an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of service.
