Larry D. Fritts

Larry Dale Fritts, 68, husband of the late Edna Deaton Fritts, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born September 24, 1949 in Hazard, KY to the late Ernest Stanley Fritts, Jr. & Mosetta Pennington Fritts, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving 2 tours in Vietnam and later joining the Ky. Army National Guard-Carlisle Unit, where he retired with 20 years service. Larry worked in the coal mines in Perry County before working at the Bluegrass Army Depot from which he retired. He greatly enjoyed painting pictures.

Survivors include his 3 children; twins, Chrystal (Jason) Metcalfe & Eric Fritts, and Stanley (Sharnetta) Fritts; 2 sisters, Karen Fritts (Jack) Bates & Robin Fritts Cornett; 5 grandchildren, Mary Beth Metcalfe, Jordan Fritts, La’Nasia Stewart, Jaiden Fritts & Janie Hendricks and a special friend, Kathy Williams.

A visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home. Following cremation, he and his wife’s cremains will be inurned in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

A meal will be served after visitation at the Carlisle Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
