Larry Dennis Mitchell

Larry Dennis Mitchell, 75, husband of 57 years to Phyllis McKee Mitchell, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born August 4, 1946 in Nicholas County to the late Edward & Margaret Bretz Mitchell, he retired from both IBM & Parker Seal, was a past President of the Nicholas County Courthouse Arts Guild and member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Larry was a talented woodworker and avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and trapping.

Additional survivors include 2 children: Melissa (Eddie) Hill and Chad (Anna) Mitchell; a sister, Brenda Mitchell Gaunce; and 3 grandchildren: Chris Jefferson, Hunter Mitchell & Tyler Mitchell, along with a large extended family. 

Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Jimmy Mitchell and Kenny Mitchell. 

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 27th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
