Lowell Allen Gaunce, Sr., 73, husband of Betty Marie Gaunce, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home in Nicholas County.
Born February 12, 1952 in Bourbon County to the late Robert Wesley & Etna Mae Smith Gaunce, he was a former employee of Collier Electric and Claiborne Farms and also worked for several years in maintenance. He loved fishing, arrowhead hunting and picking on his grandbabies.
Additional survivors include a son, Lowell Allen Gaunce, II (Haley Blakeman); 4 daughters: Misty Gaunce (Sherman Evans), Shawn (Anthony) Eckler, Stacy Gaunce and Lacy Pruitt; 15 grandchildren: Austin Sparks, Will (Whitney) Sparks, Harmony Evans, Taz Eckler, Edan (Michael) Eckler-McGlothin, Kyaira Eckler, Landon Hill-Gaunce, Izak Tackett, Owen Turner, Halie Gaunce, Adreyona Shrout, Aydan Gaunce, Will Gaunce, Alorea Gaunce and Liam Gaunce; and 6 great-grandchildren: Kannon Johnson, Kovvan Eckler, Airalee Feeback, Avery Estes, Mesias Ferguson & Wren Sparks.
Also preceding him in death were a grandson, Gage DeWayne Allen Gaunce; 6 brothers: David Bradley, Douglas Elden, James Harvey, Robert Wayne, Sr., Phillip Wesley & Thomas Wesley Gaunce; and 5 sisters: Esther Purcell, Mary Jo Banks, Wanda Nesbitt, Roxann Gaunce & Janice Sue Moore.
In accordance with his wishes, Lowell will be cremated with no formal services.
