Mary Lillian Stewart, 72, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Bourbon Community Hospital.
A native of Robertson County born August 3, 1949 to the late Farris Z. Sr. & Geneva Belle Paynter Stewart, she worked for many years in business & accounting, was the City Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Carlisle for 32½ years and a devoted member of the Carlisle Christian Church, where she was active in the Sonshine Sisters. Mary enjoyed bowling and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving are her children, Jonathan A. Tapp, of Carlisle, and Geneva (Jess) Frieszell, of Georgetown; 2 brothers, Farris Z. (Alice) Stewart, Jr., of Mt. Olivet, and William L. (Dick) Stewart, of New Jersey; 2 nephews, Andrew (Lisa) Stewart, of Mt. Olivet, and Adam (Andrea) Stewart, of Richmond; a great-nephew, Jacob Lee Stewart, of Richmond; a cousin, Marvin (Leslie) Stewart, of Cynthiana; a step-granddaughter, Katana Frieszell; and 3 step-great-grandchildren, Jase Wheeler, Keglynn Wheeler & Emberiah Henderson; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also preceding her in death were a half-brother, Phillip Clay Insko, and his son, Randall Clay Insko; a step-grandson, Bryndon Whalen; her aunt, Ana Bell Stewart, and her uncle, Wallace Stewart.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 25, 2022 by Rev. Steve Smith at the Carlisle Christian Church with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the church.
