Mary Lou Lawson Clinkenbeard Alexander, 93, formerly of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her home in Frankfort.
Born May 13, 1927 in Nicholas County to the late Otha & Mattie Kimes Lawson, she retired as a CNA from Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home, was a member of the Nicholas County Homemakers, the Red-Hatters and a longtime member of the Carlisle Christian Church, where she previously served on the Twilight Council.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Earl) Riley, of Frankfort; a step-son, Jack (Teresa) Alexander; a daughter-in-law, Melicent Clinkenbeard, of Tennessee; 4 grandchildren: Emily (Justin) Foster, Andy (Arianna) Richardson, Christy (Andy) Bendix and Kara (Brendan) Boles; a step-grandson, Christopher James Alexander; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her 2 husbands, Gene Clinkenbeard and Stanley C. Alexander; a son, Larry Clinkenbeard; and 4 brothers: Woodrow, William, Bobby & Ronnie Lee “Ponto” Lawson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 31, 2020 in the Carlisle Cemetery Chapel with burial to follow.
