Mildred Burden Mynear, 85, wife of the late James G. Mynear for 63 years, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington.
Born January 24, 1931 in Nicholas County to the late Vernis & Grace Garrison Burden, she was a retired supervisor for Jockey International, after having started her more than 40 year career at Giffin Manufacturing and Bluegrass Industries. While there, she worked as a seamstress and then spent many years as an instructor. Mildred also was a member of the Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 2 sons, Douglas K. (Jennifer) Mynear, of Nicholasville, & Ronald K. Mynear (Jill Bentley), of Carlisle, a daughter, Vicky (David) Hatton, of Paris, a sister, Emma Lou Ritchie, of Cynthiana, 4 grandchildren, Michael Brookshire, Derrick (Amber) Mynear, Jason (Ashley) Mynear & Claire Mynear, and 5 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Kailee, Braxtyn, Tenley & Paisley Mynear.
Also preceding her in death were 3 brothers, Jack, Lemuel & her twin, Marion "Luke" Burden and a grandson, Jarrett Mynear.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Alvin Eckler with burial following in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of service.
