Myrtle D. Livingood Howard, 98, wife of the late Cecil Howard, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.
Born February 27, 1923 in Nicholas County to the late Henry & Elizabeth “Lizzie” Ritchie Livingood, she was a retired employee of Jockey International and member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle.
Surviving are 3 sons: Cecil Franklin (Peggy) Howard, Ronald C. Howard and James Henry Howard; a daughter, Betty Lou Gillispie; and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were 6 brothers, Lovell “Bob”, Irvin, Grover, Garlet, J.C. and Walter Livingood, and 3 sisters, Lula Getz, Virginia Waugh and Flossie Livingood.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Dr. John Owen with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Thursday until the time of service.
