Nellie Mae Roe Brierley, 80, wife of the late Wilson S. Brierley, passed away peacefully Friday, August 26, 2016 at her home.
Born September 3, 1935 in Clark County to the late George Elmer & Hazel Cope Roe, she was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother & grandmother. Nellie’s favorite things were Indians and watching old westerns on television, especially Gunsmoke.
Left to cherish her memory are 5 sons: Johnny Clifton (Judy) Brierley, of Owingsville, Lonnie Wilson (Ann) Brierly, of Carlisle, Danny Ray (Barbara) Brierley, of Cynthiana, James Carl Brierley, of Carlisle, and Billy Daryle (Yvonne) Brierley, of Bath Co.; 2 daughters: Rita Faye (Lonnie) Webb, of Bath Co., and JoAnn B. (Billy) Linville, of Carlisle; 1 brother, Wayne Roe, of Carlisle; 4 sisters: Wilma Jean (Buck) Smith, of Bethel, Doris Ann (Bill) Cannon, of Lexington, Mary Ellen Roe and Sue Earlywine, both of Paris; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were 2 sons, Jimmy Shields & Barry Gene Brierley; a daughter, Robin Lynn Brierley; a brother, James Harlan Roe; a sister, Georgia Lee Willoughby; and a grandson, Kevin Ray Brierley.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with a Service at 7:00P.M. officiated by Bro. Tony Smith.
