Ora (Guthrie) McWhorter

Ora A. Guthrie McWhorter, 95, wife of the late Charles Wm. McWhorter, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home.

Born November 13, 1921 in Bourbon County to the late Ollie V. & Ethel McCord Guthrie, she was former secretary to Dr. Jack Morford and member of the Carlisle Christian Church.

Surviving are a son: Billy (Peggy) McWhorter, of Paris; 2 daughters: Terry (Kenny) Earlywine, of Carlisle, and Patty McCord, of Cowan; 4 grandchildren: Steve McWhorter, of Bowling Green, Angela (Dr. Casey) Wilson, of Paris, Donnie (Polly) McCord and Bobby (Sara) McCord, both of Ewing; and 7 great-grandchildren: Nikki & Andrew McWhorter, Christina & Jennifer Wilson, Lauren (Brian) Howard, Brian McCord and Justin (Tessa) McCord.

Also preceding her in death was a son-in-law, Ronald Elmo McCord.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jim Caswell and Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon Friday until the time of service.
