Peggy Ann Spigles Snapp, 74, wife of the late Bernis Lee Snapp for 36 years, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Born February 24, 1947 in Nicholas County to the late Clarence Everett & Ethel Pickett Murrell Spigles, she was a retired employee of Jockey International, a former employee of Monessen Hearth, served as a bus monitor at Nicholas County Schools for several years and was a member of the Barterville United Methodist Church. Peggy loved gardening, sewing, cooking & baking for others, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son, Christopher “Chris” (Angela Teegarden) Snapp, of Nicholas County; a daughter, Cathy (Mike) Bledsoe, of Decatur, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Angela Walters Snapp, of Nicholas County; 2 sisters, Juanita Jolly & Dorothy Frederick, of Carlisle; 7 grandchildren: Jacob & Marissa Snapp, Tina Payne, Julie Taulbee, Lisa Peck, Ashley Justice and Kevin Harney; 10 great-grandchildren: Brennan & Brailee Justice, Michael, Dustin & Trevor Scott, Dylan & Zack Peck, Samantha & Sydney Payne and Gabriel Harney; 5 great-great grandchildren: Bentley, Charlie & Parker Scott, Kason Trussell and Everleigh Peck; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Johnnie Snapp; a step-daughter, Connie Howard; 3 brothers: William Earl Murrell and Joe “Shorty” & Carl “Buck” Spigles; and a sister, Janet Morris.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 16, 2021 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Jerry Eubanks. A joint committal service for Peggy and her son, Johnnie Snapp, will follow in the Millersburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
