Obituary

Penny Sue Asbury Watkins, 59, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Bourbon Community Hospital.

A Nicholas County native born July 24, 1963 to the late Marion Eugene & Delphia Mae Fisher Asbury, she was a former CNA and member of Ruddles Mills Methodist Church. Penny avidly collected elephants & jewelry and loved being “Mimi” to her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Nicole (Richard) Johnson; a brother, David Lee (Tina) Asbury; a sister, Mary Asbury Willoughby; and 2 beloved grandchildren, Gavin & Addison Johnson, along with a host of nieces & nephews. 

Also preceding her in death were 4 brothers: Frank Asbury, Eslie Asbury, Sr., Billy Ray Asbury and Tony Asbury, Sr.; and a sister, Betty Willoughby.

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with a Time of Remembrance beginning at 7:00 P.M.
