Rich Denton Obituary

Calvin Richard “Rich” Denton, Jr., 57, of Germantown, husband of Sarah Webb Denton, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. 

Born June 16, 1967 in Nicholas County, he worked for many years at Stober Drives in Maysville and later owned & operated Denton’s Towing. Rich was a certified first responder and had worked for both the Germantown and Fern Leaf Fire Departments. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in his truck. 

Also surviving are 4 children: Calvin R. “Trey” Denton, III of Germantown, Amber (Corian) Haithcoach of Brooksville, Sahra Cheyanne Denton of Lewis County & Abbygale Renae Denton of Germantown; 2 stepdaughters, Heather (Bobby) Cannon of Frankfort & Tristin Culbertson of Paris; his father, Calvin R. (Melanie) Denton of Carlisle; a brother, William D. “Bill” (Amanda) Denton of Cynthiana; a sister, Rebecca (Scott) Highfield of Maysville; 3 stepsisters: Kari (Matt) Robinson of Flemingsburg, Kristie Gifford & Katie (Mike) Zornes, both of Mt. Olivet; 4 grandchildren: Landon Evans McFerron, Camron Jean Roe, Maurice Quinton Haithcoach, Grayson Calvin Ray Switzer, and one on the way, Evelyn Renae Denton, along with several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Gloria (Lipp) & Shirley Commodore.

In accordance with his wishes, Rich will be cremated with no formal services.
