Robert Wayne Gaunce, Jr., 39, husband of Cody Ray Roe Gaunce, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at his home.

A native of Nicholas County born May 31, 1983, he worked as an LPN at Edgemont Healthcare in Cynthiana and was a member of Clintonville Christian Church. Robert was passionate about his career in nursing, having worked for more than 20 years as a CNA before achieving his longtime goal of an LPN degree earlier this year. He loved the beach and watching all the old classics like Andy Griffith, Golden Girls & The Price is Right on television with his beloved fur babies, Izzy & Tom, by his side.

Also surviving are his mother, Kathy (Bobby) Herrington; his mother-in-law, Shonda Mingua; his maternal grandmother, Pansy Whitt; and several step-siblings.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Gaunce, Sr., and his maternal grandfather, Ezra Whitt.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family memorial service will be held.
