Roberta (Farris) Darbro

Roberta Farris Darbro, 89, wife of 68 years to Bob Darbro, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. 

Born January 26, 1935 in Nicholas County to the late Burton & Pauline McCarty Farris, she was a 1953 graduate of Carlisle High School, had been a member of the Marie Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, owned & operated Roberta’s Beauty Shop and worked with Bob at Carlisle Tire & Service Center for many years. Roberta was a devout Christian and devoted member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church; she read her Bible every day and enjoyed her Facebook Bible study group. She was involved in many PTA activities at Nicholas County Elementary. Roberta was the consummate cook and hostess, greatly enjoyed traveling– especially cruises, and loved being a doting Nonnie to her grandchildren.

Additional survivors include her son, Douglas Gene (Tonia) Darbro of Nicholas County; 3 grandchildren: Kyle, Sadie & Bailey Darbro; and a great-grandson, Cooper Darbro.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jewel Rockwell.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 16th at Carlisle United Methodist Church by Pastors Rocky& Denise Wallace and Pastor Kyle Burnette. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
