Rosa R. Fryman, wife of the late Clifton Fryman, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home. She celebrated her 100th birthday July 2nd surrounded by her many family members and friends.
Born in Nicholas County to the late Clarence & Frances Durbin Davis, she was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother, who spent much of her time caring for any friend in need. "Rosa R." was beloved Mamaw to the countless children she baby-sat over the years. An independent spirit, she mowed her own lawn and those of others well into her nineties.
Left to cherish her memory are 2 sons: Jimmy Dow Allison, of Spokane, Washington, and Myron (Shelby) Fryman, of Norfolk, Virginia; 6 daughters: Jeannie Norton, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joan McCarty, of Lexington, Deloris Sanders, of Frankfort, Carolyn Faye (Malcolm) Cox, of Carlisle, Linda (James) Blizard and Brenda Henry, both of Bridgeport, Alabama; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews and her many baby-sitting children.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Frances Howe Allison; a grandson, Eric Henry; 4 brothers: Marion, Elva, Otis & Cleve Davis; and 2 sisters: Catherine Minton and Alzada McCoy.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Chaplain Rick Snyder with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
