Roscoe Howard, 63, husband of the late Marilyn McCarty Howard, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at UK-Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born August 6, 1959 in Morgan County to the late Dillard & Lena Mae Risner Howard, he was a former employee of A.O. Smith and a lifelong farmer. Roscoe enjoyed gun-trading and collecting knives, guns & antiques.
Survivors include 3 sons, Bobby “Bo” Wells, Jr., John Wayne Wells & Kevin Trent Wells, Sr.; 4 brothers: Ernest Risner, Eddie Dean Howard, Paul Howard & Ira Howard; 2 sisters: Mary Louise Booth & Parrott Marie Sapp; 13 grandchildren: Maranda Kay Wright, Willard Wright, Kevin Wells, Jr., Cheyenne Michelle Wells, Triffany Michelle Wells, John Wayne Wells, Jr., Evan James Lee Wells, Jadin Brooke Wells, Sierra Shae Wells, Payton Rae Wells, Paul Lewis Wells & Chloe Dawn Wells; and 5 great-grandchildren: Samuel Dewayne Purvis, Lilliana Jean Wells, Harper Leeann Purvis, Chevelle Renee Wells & Axel Colt Purvis.
Also preceding him in death were 6 brothers: Marvin Risner, George R. Risner, Columbus Gene Risner, Goble Howard, Dillard Howard, Jr., and Billy Joe Howard; a sister, Bernice Risner Short; and a grandson, Hunter Gene Wells.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Gary Stitt and Bro. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.
