Roy Kenneth "Kenny" Mitchell, 68, of Bethel, husband of Nora Bussell Mitchell passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his home.

He was born March 21, 1942 in Nicholas Co. to the late Edward & Margaret Bretz Mitchell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired IBM employee, a former Bath Co. Deputy Sheriff and attended Bethel Community Church.

Other survivors include 2 sons, Kenneth Earl Mitchell, Sr. & Timothy (Melanie) Mitchell, of Bethel, a brother, Larry (Phyllis) Mitchell, Carlisle, a sister, Brenda Mitchell Gaunce, Carlisle, 5 grandchildren, Kenneth Earl (Eugenia) Mitchell, Jr., Joshua Mitchell, Heather Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell & Anthony Mitchell, 3 step-grandchildren, Andrea Mullins, Anthony & Brandon Havens, and 4 great-grandchildren, Ivey Cornwell, Peyton, Maddie & McKenna Mitchell.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Mitchell.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2010, Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Kevin Miles with burial to follow in Longview Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Tuesday.
