Sally Ryan Obituary

Sally Wilson Ryan, 69, wife of Jerald Ryan, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born August 10, 1949 in Somerset, Kentucky, she was a 1967 graduate of Nicholas County High School, had worked in tobacco, as a floral designer, a school secretary & a teacher’s aide and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church, where she was active in the Sonshine Sisters. Sally was truly devoted to her family and home, striving to make it the best it could be through collecting antiques, gardening, doing crafts and hosting family meals.

Also surviving are 3 daughters: Melissa Jones, Rebekah Jones and Jennifer Grigsby, all of Carlisle; a step-daughter, Crystal Lee Ryan, of Nicholasville; her father, Charles Edward Wilson, of Carlisle; a brother, Sam Wilson, of Tell City, Indiana; a sister, Sandra Wilson Durham, of Carlisle; a nephew, Colton Edward Wilson; 7 grandchildren: Ashley Casey, Michaela Elizabeth Shea, Michael Andrew Adkins, Jonathan Clay Adkins, Abram Grigsby, Sawyer Elizabeth Grigsby and Jude Hutson Grigsby; and a great-grandson, Angus Cole "Gus" Wigglesworth.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Ellen Hamm Wilson.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the church.
