Sammie Jo Ham Rose, 84, wife of 68 years to Stanley Tilton Rose, passed away Friday, July 26, 2025 at her home in Carlisle.
Born October 16, 1940 in Bourbon County, she worked for many years in the Social Services office in Paris, and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Sammie loved being a homemaker, caring for her family, cooking large meals for them to enjoy and keeping their home spotless. She enjoyed cross-stitch, making all kinds of belts and wall-hangings. Sammie also devoted herself for many years to the care of her beloved sister, Gerry.
Additional survivors include her son, Phillip (Katie) Rose of Logan, Ohio; her sister, Maxine (Doug) Woosley of Carlisle; 2 grandchildren, Aaron (Sarah) Rose & Ashleigh Rose; 2 great-grandchildren, Parker & Kaylee Rose; a niece, Angie (Billy) Williams; and several great-nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Buckler Towles; her son, Jeffrey Rose; her sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Ham; her mother-in-law, Lillian Rose; and a niece, Yana Rae Ecklar-Day.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 30th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service.
